Hydraulics are a key part of a carís braking system, making the brakes much more effective than they otherwise would be. When you press down on the brake pedal, the brake fluid in the piston is sent to the four brakes. The pressure of this fluid then forces a much larger piston and this puts further pressure onto each of the brake pads, slowing the car down or bringing it to a stop. When the hydraulics start to wear the braking can be seriously affected making driving dangerous. It is vital that you pay close attention to the quality of your brakes, something you will notice when you press the pedal.
