This bush is stocked as both the genuine rubber bush SPM1534 and in the Prestige Parts range as a polyurethane bush SPM1534PL.
The Prestige Parts lower suspension arm bush has been designed to precisely mimic the qualities of the original version, exactly matching the hardness of the original rubber, in order to preserve ride quality and eliminate NVH (Noise, Vibration and Harshness) from vehicle handling. The polyurethane component is black, so that the component is visually indistinguishable from the original component when fitted.
In addition to this, SPM1534PL is manufactured from a specialised compound capable of undergoing enormous strain without maintenance or lubricant. Unlike rubber, it is impervious to motor oil, petrol, UV light and most importantly, age. It is supplied with a sleeve manufactured from 303 stainless steel, so it will not corrode.
Without the protective materials, unwanted friction is caused between two hard surfaces and the joints don't move as freely or smoothly as they should. When the rubber suspension bushes in cars wear down, which is inevitable over time, the driver will notice how uncomfortable the ride can become through clunking and unnatural movements in the steering, particularly while cornering.
