This Prestige Parts Ignition Contact Set (Part Number CD5627-X) fits Rolls-Royce and Bentley models from 1966 to 1975.

The ignition contact set is a switch within the distributor that breaks the primary circuit and causes a high voltage current to ignite the fuel via the spark plug. Also known as a contact breaker, the ignition contact set comprises a set of points that interrupt the flow of electrical current around the primary ignition coil circuit, sending a surge of current to the secondary coil, which culminates in a spark at the coil output. Since the contact points of the ignition contact set open and close every time the engine turns, they are prone to eventual wear by the electrical current.
