This rubber mount is from the exhaust system & components section in the Rolls-Royce & Bentley parts catalogues for models built between 1956 to 1965.
Problems are caused when the mount materials start to deteriorate. Cracks or breaks in the rubber will inevitably cause friction as metal clashes against metal, you will probably notice a juddering sensation and increased noise. An exhaust mount cannot be maintained or repaired - it has to be replaced when it starts to fail.
