Rubber Bumper Mouldings for Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow II, Silver Wraith II, T2 & late Corniche & Continental.. new, improved & available now!

These bumper components have been manufactured from microcellular polyurethane (as per the original Rolls-Royce component), and are reinforced with steel inserts. However, the original inserts were prone to rust, so the Prestige Parts® reinforcement plate has been fabricated from stainless steel. Age causes another issue: the effect of UV light and heat causes the quarter bumper to distort, pulling the end away from the body of the car, so in the case of the Prestige Parts® bumpers the thickness of the steel plate used for reinforcement has been increased by 50%. In this video, John Tupper (IntroCar, Managing Director) explains the manufacturing process in depth.

"We have just just released the last of these bumper products. We've been working on quarter bumpers for the Silver Shadow II which haven't been available for Silver Shadow II, Silver Wraith II also the T2 and the Corniche use these rubber bumper quarters and they've not been available for a long time and they do obviously suffer there with age and also with damage because they are very vulnerable with where they are on the car. So we've been working for the last couple of years on producing new versions and we've got the right hand front one here, and the left hand rear. So we've got both front and rear and for a year now we've also had the centre rubbers.

So anyone who's had one of these cars for a long time will know that they suffer from a couple of problems and here's a good example. Here's an old one and you can see here that there's a lot of rust in here and the actual reinforcement plate is coming out of the material there. So, when we made this, we obviously knew that was an existing problem, so we've made our internals from stainless steel, so that problem shouldn't happen again, and we should have a lot more longevity in ours. The other thing you can probably see if you look around that they get a twist, like that, and that's because the outside of the quarter bumper cures faster than the inside so it actually shrinks. So, then you get this kind of twist away from the body of the car. In order to combat that we've actually increased the thickness of the reinforcement plate by 50%. So again, we are looking to build on on the original product and make it make it even better.

They are just out now. We're the only people in the world to have these so we're obviously quite proud of that. In terms of price they're under £300 (now under £250 since video release). Obviously there are discounts for trade and for Enthusiasts' Club members. This is the kind of thing that we hope will finish cars that otherwise have ones that aren't quite so nice!"
