For many years owners have been plagued by noisy and unreliable A6 compressors. Until now there has been no off-the-shelf modern replacement for the particular A6 compressor used by Rolls-Royce Motorcars during 1965 to 1986.
ThisPrestige Partscompressor is a modern, lightweight unit (54% lighter). It features a ten-piston design (versus 6 pistons in the original A6). The pistons are teflon-coated for quiet operation and improved fuel economy. The compressor incorporates modern lip seals to replace the earlier and less reliable metal or ceramic seals, and employs a friction ring in the pulley to ensure continuous contact with the clutch hub and reduced slippage.
